EGON SCHIELE: ‘WOMAN’AT RICHARD NAGY

As unashamedly proclaimed by the polished brass interiors - Donald Trump’s well jel - the Richard Nagy gallery in Mayfair is the sort of gallery rich Italian uncles love to take their aging wives whilst their mistresses are busy doing young person stuff, (bikini waxes, etc.) and even a really bad exhibition could be worth a visit just to feel special. Luckily, for those of you requiring certainty before action, I am here to inform you of Schiele’s brilliance and insist you brave the mirrored hallways and plastic plants to go take a look.
Executed between 1910 and his death in 1918 (aged 28), the fifty paper works show the progression of his characteristic technique as well as his insatiable curiosity with the human body. All jutting collarbones and twisted ribcages, the beauty is in the unsparing detail. I don’t really have anything more to say apart from to tell you that the show is open from 19 May - 30 June 2011. Closed Mondays. 22 Old Bond Street, 2nd Floor, London and you should definitely not miss it.
