Rain Food

It is during rainy days like the past few that I am reminded of my native country Sweden. Not only because of the weather, but as a result, the food which seems inevitable to have to cook. On the third day of pouring rain the sight of the gaping fridge is just pathetic, yet far more appealing than the five-minute walk to the shop.

This is when the national dish, or a Scandinavian type of soul food, directly translated “hash in pan”, makes sense the most. The recipe is simple – there is none. Whatever food is forgotten in that fridge is chopped, put in a pan and voilĂ ! Rain food is served.
